Ahead of the Ministerial, the Rt Hon Baroness Anelay of St Johns DBE announced UK support for the Kigali Principles. The 18 Principles are intended as guidelines to improve the protection of civilians on peacekeeping missions.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking ahead of the London Ministerial, Baroness Anelay said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This week\u2019s conference is all about better peacekeeping. Improving peacekeepers\u2019 ability to protect civilians is a vital part of that and the Kigali Principles are designed to help them with this.
