{"id":74087,"date":"2016-09-13T09:24:11","date_gmt":"2016-09-13T09:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=3d75645749ad23d621871bf4ec75bac2"},"modified":"2016-09-13T09:24:11","modified_gmt":"2016-09-13T09:24:11","slug":"news-story-innovations-in-health-and-food-apply-for-business-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=74087","title":{"rendered":"News story: Innovations in health and food: apply for business funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Innovate UK has up to \u00a315 million to invest in innovative business projects in agriculture, food and healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>Projects must involve a small or medium-sized business and focus on one of the following priority areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>increasing yield, quality and sustainability in agriculture and food production<\/li>\n<li>improving precision medicine, advanced therapies, pre-clinical technologies<\/li>\n<li>advancing biosciences in healthcare and agriculture and food production<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A growing and ageing global population, increased burden of disease and greater wealth are all accelerating demand for food and improved healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The food and drink sector represents 30% of the $20 trillion global economy and healthcare 10%. There is a \u00a3250 billion global market opportunity for improvements in agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, advances in bioscience, medical research, engineering and physical sciences are making new business innovation possible.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/innovate-uk-health-and-life-sciences\">Find out more about how Innovate UK is supporting health and life sciences.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>This competition aims to stimulate innovation in health and life sciences under a number of themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>increasing agricultural productivity<\/li>\n<li>improving food quality and sustainability<\/li>\n<li>precision medicine<\/li>\n<li>advanced therapies<\/li>\n<li>pre-clinical technologies<\/li>\n<li>biosciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"soil\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/56201\/lifesciences-soil.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"competition-information\">Competition information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>the competition opens on 12 September 2016, and the deadline for registration is at noon on 9 November 2016<\/li>\n<li>projects must include at least one SME.
