The Rt Hon Edward Llewellyn OBE has been appointed her Majesty\u2019s Ambassador to France with the approval of the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

Mr Llewellyn will succeed Sir Julian King who was recently appointed as European Commissioner. Mr Llewellyn is due to take up his appointment in November 2016, subject to obtaining the formal diplomatic approval of the French government.<\/p>\n

Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson said:<\/p>\n

Ed Llewellyn is hugely well qualified for this post and I look forward to working with him. He has served his country in Bosnia and Hong Kong and has extensive experience of Europe. He will help us make a great success of Brexit while ensuring that Britain is more engaged in the continent of Europe than ever.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
