{"id":74564,"date":"2016-09-29T08:31:17","date_gmt":"2016-09-29T08:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=83368344c7fbe9024d24ebf8c71d95e5"},"modified":"2016-09-29T08:31:17","modified_gmt":"2016-09-29T08:31:17","slug":"news-story-rail-industry-regulator-gets-3-new-board-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=74564","title":{"rendered":"News story: Rail industry regulator gets 3 new board members"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has appointed 3 new non-executive directors to join the board of the Office of Rail and Road (<abbr title=\"Office of Rail and Road\">ORR<\/abbr>), the independent body which regulates Britain\u2019s railways and monitors Highways England.<\/p>\n<p>David Franks, Anne Heal and Graham Mather bring a wealth of experience in transport, the rail industry and network regulation and will support the <abbr title=\"Office of Rail and Road\">ORR<\/abbr>\u2019s work protecting the interests of rail passengers, freight customers and road users.<\/p>\n<p>The Transport Secretary said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">We are undertaking the biggest programme of investment in road and rail in a generation and need a strong, independent regulator to champion the travelling public and ensure that every pound of taxpayer\u2019s money is well spent. I am delighted to welcome this exciting new talent to the team.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><abbr title=\"Office of Rail and Road\">ORR<\/abbr> Chair, Stephen Glaister, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am delighted to welcome David, Anne and Graham.
