{"id":74625,"date":"2016-09-30T14:00:31","date_gmt":"2016-09-30T14:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4d9f5454489d56a78acc3659f81a4083"},"modified":"2016-09-30T14:00:31","modified_gmt":"2016-09-30T14:00:31","slug":"news-story-cma-consults-on-celesiosainsburys-merger-undertakings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=74625","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA consults on Celesio\/Sainsbury\u2019s merger undertakings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>On 29 July 2016, the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/pharmacy-merger-gets-conditional-go-ahead\">announced<\/a> that Celesio will have to sell a Lloyds pharmacy in each of the 12 local areas in which it had found a significant lessening of competition to a new owner, to be approved by the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>, to maintain the current level of competition for local customers in those areas. Celesio is not permitted to close its pharmacies in those areas.<\/p>\n<p>Celesio and its subsidiary Lloyds Pharmacy Limited have now offered undertakings to sell the required number of pharmacies to one or more suitable buyer(s) to be approved by the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>.
