He will start his induction on 10th October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Dalton spent 7 years as the Chief Executive (<abbr title=\"Chief Executive\">CE<\/abbr>) of the Highways Agency, and then a short time as <abbr title=\"Chief Executive\">CE<\/abbr> of its successor body, Highways England, before leaving last summer.<\/p>\n<p>He is a chartered civil engineer and has spent his career in the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of large infrastructure including railways, power generation and ports.
