{"id":74828,"date":"2016-10-07T15:12:25","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T15:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=2171396e26ab6f02c87e620422e61b57"},"modified":"2016-10-07T15:12:25","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T15:12:25","slug":"press-release-flood-resilience-work-along-a590-near-ulverston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=74828","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Flood resilience work along A590 near Ulverston"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Work to boost flood resilience along a section of the A590 between Dalton-in-Furness and Ulverston in Cumbria will get underway on Monday (10 October).<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a3410,000 Highways England project to repair and improve drainage between Dalton roundabout and Queen Street in Ulverston is set to take 6 weeks and be completed by Sunday 20 November.<\/p>\n<p>The repairs include improving access to the drainage system to reduce disruption to drivers during future maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Highways England project manager Peter Gee said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Although these are routine wear and tear repairs, the work will increase the resilience of the route to flooding, providing drivers with safer, more reliable journeys.   We\u2019ve planned the work to take place during quieter times of the day and overnight to minimise disruption to people\u2019s journeys.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The work will be taking place \u2013 with narrow lanes or temporary traffic lights &#8211; between 8pm and 6am overnight for the first week followed by working between 9.30am and 3.30pm, as well as overnight, for the rest of the project.
