{"id":74882,"date":"2016-10-11T09:51:03","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T09:51:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4f6d490e93e2a88fb62ee6ab3f2e6ad4"},"modified":"2016-10-11T09:51:03","modified_gmt":"2016-10-11T09:51:03","slug":"press-release-improved-road-surface-around-highfields-roundabout-at-berwick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=74882","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Improved road surface around Highfields roundabout at Berwick"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Contractors for Highways England will be resurfacing the roundabout on the A1 as well as replacing the kerbs on the island which have been damaged.<\/p>\n<p>The work, which is expected to be completed by the beginning of November, will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am, excluding weekends.<\/p>\n<p>Highways England Project Manager Steve Bishop said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This project will provide drivers with safer journeys around Highfields roundabout on the A1 in Berwick.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Every effort is being made to ensure disruption to traffic is kept to a minimum. We are carrying out as much work as we can overnight while traffic levels are at their lowest.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The work will be carried out in 5 phases, taking into account the 5 approaches. Every effort will be made to keep access to each of the 5 approaches open at night until essential work means that closures will be implemented.
