Sarah Chambers and Anne Lambert <abbr title=\"Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George\">CMG<\/abbr> have also been appointed as panel member non-executive directors to the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> Board. Martin Coleman will join the board from October 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Non-executive directors of the Competition and Markets Authority Board play a key role in providing leadership and direction to the organisation, working with the chair and chief executive.<\/p>\n<p>As board members, they will also be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>setting the organisation\u2019s strategic direction and policy framework<\/li>\n<li>developing priorities<\/li>\n<li>monitoring performance against its objectives<\/li>\n<li>making decisions on Market Investigation References<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>, a non-ministerial department, is the UK\u2019s primary competition and consumer authority.
