{"id":75033,"date":"2016-10-14T12:41:03","date_gmt":"2016-10-14T12:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=f73be77132686748d51415546196c046"},"modified":"2016-10-14T12:41:03","modified_gmt":"2016-10-14T12:41:03","slug":"news-story-improving-care-for-stroke-patients-apply-for-innovation-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=75033","title":{"rendered":"News story: Improving care for stroke patients: apply for innovation funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>A Northern Ireland-led international consortium is inviting innovative businesses to apply for a share of up to \u00a32.7 million to develop new technical care solutions for stroke patients.<\/p>\n<p>The project &#8211; Mobile Assistance for Groups and Individuals in the Community (MAGIC) &#8211; aims to discover innovative approaches to post-stroke care and improve the independence of stroke survivors.<\/p>\n<p>This competition is in 3 phases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>phase 1 \u2013 successful applicants will receive funding of up to \u20ac60,000 to carry out feasibility studies \/ solution development projects lasting 6 months<\/li>\n<li>phase 2 &#8211; successful companies from phase 1 will receive funding of up to \u20ac105,700 to develop prototypes of their proposed solutions<\/li>\n<li>phase 3 &#8211; successful companies from phase 2 will receive funding of up to \u20ac930,000 to develop their solutions at scale in Northern Ireland and Italy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The MAGIC Post-Stroke challenge is funded through the Horizon 2020 programme. This is the first successful bid for funding from the Horizon 2020 pre-commercial procurement fund in the UK and Ireland. The <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health-ni.gov.uk\/\">Northern Ireland Department of Health<\/a> is running this competition. Other NI participants are the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hscboard.hscni.net\/\">Health and Social Care Board<\/a>, the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.publichealth.hscni.net\/\">Public Health Agency<\/a>, <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.investni.com\/\">Invest Northern Ireland<\/a> and <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ulster.ac.uk\/\">Ulster University<\/a>.
