The UK tax gap for 2014-15 was estimated to be \u00a336bn, which is 6.5% of theoretical tax liabilities. This represented a fall from \u00a337bn (6.9%) in 2013-14 after the original figures for that year had been revised upwards by \u00a32.8bn. According to HMRC, there has been a downward trend from 8.3% in 2005-06, although the gap has levelled out in recent years.<\/p>\n
