{"id":76778,"date":"2016-12-02T10:58:54","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T10:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=7e307752ebbf2cbb87b6f73d51a6bfa0"},"modified":"2016-12-02T10:58:54","modified_gmt":"2016-12-02T10:58:54","slug":"press-release-m5-resurfacing-work-to-be-delivered-early-in-gloucestershire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=76778","title":{"rendered":"Press release: M5 resurfacing work to be delivered early in Gloucestershire"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Highways England had originally proposed a programme of work for 2018\/19 but will now be resurfacing a seven-mile section of the M5 at Gloucester with quieter materials next spring \u2013 a full 12 to 18 months earlier than anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>Funding has now become available to schedule the M5 resurfacing work in March next year \u2013 instead of 2018\/19.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Llewellyn, Highways England\u2019s asset development manager for the south west, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Safety is our top priority, we identified junction M5 J11A-J12 among our list of properties in the south west and we are pleased funding has now become available to deliver this scheme earlier than anticipated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In recent years, Highways England has also been working with local communities and stakeholders to identify a solution to alleviate a longstanding noise issue between junction 11A and junction 12 around Upton St Leonards and Hucclecote.<\/p>\n<p>And acceleration of the resurfacing scheme will bring twofold benefits by helping to address the noise problem for communities bordering the motorway.
