{"id":77249,"date":"2016-12-14T12:16:46","date_gmt":"2016-12-14T12:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=98831e8a7b82069ab2bc9477b5d95f43"},"modified":"2016-12-14T12:16:46","modified_gmt":"2016-12-14T12:16:46","slug":"news-story-count-down-to-christmas-with-the-fakemeds-advent-calendar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=77249","title":{"rendered":"News story: Count down to Christmas with the FakeMeds advent calendar"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>MHRA has created the FakeMeds advent calendar this December to tie in with their ongoing campaign to raise awareness of the risks of fake and unlicensed medical products sold online.<\/p>\n<p>A new festive animation is being posted every day on the calendar, which you can view <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/a.pgtb.me\/FJpCBQ\">here<\/a> and across MHRA\u2019s social media channels (<a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MHRAgovuk?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\">Twitter<\/a>, <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mhragovuk\/\">Facebook<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Behind each door are Christmas-themed messages about the kinds of products MHRA seize, warnings about potential health risks, or advice on how to buy safely and report suspected fakes.<\/p>\n<p>The 3 year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/fakemeds\">FakeMeds campaign<\/a> launched in August 2016 with a focus on fake and unlicensed diet pills. MHRA remove thousands of potentially deadly unlicensed slimming medicines from the black market every year.<\/p>\n<p>MHRA has closed down over 5000 websites in 2016 for selling medical products illegally.
