Starting 16 January 2017 a new way of dealing with urgent applications will be available if the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) is not working.<\/p>\n

What is the new process?<\/h3>\n

The change of approach involves submitting urgent applications or amendments with a \u2018contingency cover sheet\u2019 containing a reference code.<\/p>\n

It will not be sufficient to simply mark your submission \u2018contingency\u2019. You must include the contingency reference code if you want your urgent application or amendment to be processed.<\/p>\n

You can find out more by looking at the CCMS website where there is a new \u2018Quick Guide\u2019 called \u2018CCMS: Contingency Process\u2019 with more detail about how the new arrangement works \u2013 see link below.<\/p>\n

How do I obtain a reference code?<\/h3>\n

If we think you qualify to use the contingency process we will issue you with a \u2018contingency cover sheet\u2019 together with the necessary reference code.<\/p>\n

When does the new process apply?<\/h3>\n

Urgent applications or amendments may qualify for the new contingency process if we have confirmed that the
\nCCMS system is down.<\/p>\n

We will confirm that CCMS is unavailable by placing a \u2018system outage\u2019 message on our telephone lines and also on the LAA online portal.<\/p>\n

When this happens our normal advice is for you to either consider using delegated functions or wait for the system to be restored.<\/p>\n

Remember that the contingency process is for urgent cases only.<\/p>\n

Does this mean paper processes are back?<\/h3>\n

We are not restoring paper processes. The \u2018contingency process\u2019 is for very specific circumstances where there is an urgent need. Subsequent and non-urgent applications will have to wait until the application has been added to CCMS.<\/p>\n
