Dstl<\/abbr>, a world leader in science, technology and innovation, has launched its 2017 apprenticeship recruitment campaign. This year Dstl<\/abbr> has 31 vacancies in cyber security, software development, aerospace engineering, electrical, data analysis and Business Administration Support.<\/p>\n

Jade Ward, Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s Apprenticeship Resourcing Adviser said:<\/p>\n

Apprenticeships offer a pathway to earn while you learn and gain real hands on work experience without the debt of going to university, that\u2019s one of the reasons why Dstl<\/abbr> has expanded its apprenticeship scheme. Apprenticeships are a ladder of opportunity, giving young people and adults the chance they deserve to get on and fulfil their potential. Dstl<\/abbr> is justifiably proud of its nationally recognised apprenticeship scheme. Our scheme is different to most others because our apprentices make a contribution to the security, defence and prosperity of the UK. The fact that many of our former apprentices now hold senior positions in Dstl<\/abbr>, the MOD<\/abbr> and in the private sector is a reflection of the quality of our scheme.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bethan, who has just completed her mechanical engineering apprenticeship at Dstl<\/abbr> added:<\/p>\n

During my apprenticeship I have worked on lots of really interesting high profile and important projects that have made a real difference to the UK\u2019s security, defence and prosperity. Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s apprenticeship scheme is second to none and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a great opportunity to start an exciting career and to earn a good salary at the same time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The quality of Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s programme for School and College leavers has recently been recognised by All About School Leavers<\/a>. Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s programme is ranked as the second best in the best public sector and 32nd overall.<\/p>\n

All Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s apprentices have the opportunity to gain internationally recognised qualifications as well as sponsorship towards a degree and post-graduate qualifications.<\/p>\n

Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s apprentices are based at our Porton Down site, near Salisbury and Portsdown West site, near Fareham.
\nDstl<\/abbr> has a diverse, inclusive workforce and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified applicants.<\/p>\n

Apprentices at Dstl<\/abbr> enjoy a range of benefits including a competitive salary and 25 days paid leave a year.<\/p>\n

The campaign runs until 31 March 2017.<\/p>\n
