{"id":79134,"date":"2017-02-22T12:54:00","date_gmt":"2017-02-22T12:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=6c823cadce42aa0f5d88f0e4cf33f7f0"},"modified":"2017-02-22T12:54:00","modified_gmt":"2017-02-22T12:54:00","slug":"news-story-queens-park-rangers-sign-the-armed-forces-covenant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=79134","title":{"rendered":"News story: Queens Park Rangers sign the Armed Forces Covenant"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The club, which has pledged to help service leavers and veterans achieve their goals and find jobs with its Community Trust work skills programme, run in conjunction with the Royal British Legion, signed the covenant during their match with fellow Covenant members Wigan on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme, which helps personnel prepare for life after the military, has already helped half of its previously unemployed participants find work.<\/p>\n<p>Defence Minister Mark Lancaster, who attended the signing, with the Chief of Defence People Lt General Richard Nugee, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It is great to see that QPR are signing the Armed Forces Covenant. Photograph by Back Page Images.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>QPR have also pledged to work with the Ministry of Defence\u2019s Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to provide a career pathway for personnel leaving the Armed Forces, and to support club employees who are training or deployed as Reservists.<\/p>\n<p>QPR\u2019s CEO Lee Hoos said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I\u2019m very proud that we are the first London club to sign the Armed Forces covenant.
