{"id":79374,"date":"2017-03-01T10:47:42","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T10:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=7fc80ed7cd31297b4dfb2b2b9f003c18"},"modified":"2017-03-01T10:47:42","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T10:47:42","slug":"news-story-basic-payment-scheme-2017-opens-for-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=79374","title":{"rendered":"News story: Basic Payment Scheme 2017 opens for applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The 2017 Basic Payment Scheme (<abbr title=\"Basic Payment Scheme\">BPS<\/abbr>) is now open for applications, the Rural Payments Agency (<abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr>) announced today (1 March 2017).<\/p>\n<p>By applying online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/claim-rural-payments\">Rural Payments service<\/a>, farmers and agents can now quickly check and update existing personal and business details, as well as view and transfer land and entitlements.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr> Interim Chief Executive Paul Caldwell said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Last year a record 80% of applications were received online and we hope to increase this figure for 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Help and support in applying for <abbr title=\"Basic Payment Scheme\">BPS<\/abbr> is available every step of the way through our online guidance or at the end of the phone.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"apply-now\">Apply now<\/h2>\n<p>From today, farmers and agents can complete their declarations and confirm all information before submitting their completed application online.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who applied online for the Basic Payment Scheme in 2016 will be emailed all they need to apply online for <abbr title=\"Basic Payment Scheme\">BPS<\/abbr> in 2017. Those who did not apply online in 2016 and did not use an agent will soon be sent a paper form and guidance on how to apply online.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"support-available-from-the-rpa\">Support available from the <abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr><br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>Further support is available from <abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr> this year through useful \u2018How to\u2019 videos.
