Ministers hope that cutting fees will encourage even more people to take out LPAs, providing peace of mind for themselves and their families.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"how-this-change-affects-lpa-and-epa-applications\">How this change affects <abbr title=\"Lasting power of attorney\">LPA<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"Enduring power of attorney\">EPA<\/abbr> applications<\/h3>\n<p><abbr title=\"Lasting power of attorney\">LPA<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"Enduring power of attorney\">EPA<\/abbr> applications paid for from 1 April 2017 onwards will be charged \u00a382.<\/p>\n<p>For those who recently submitted an <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/draft-origin.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/make-a-lasting-power-of-attorney\"><abbr title=\"Lasting power of attorney\">LPA<\/abbr><\/a> or <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/draft-origin.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/register-an-enduring-power-of-attorney\"><abbr title=\"Enduring power of attorney\">EPA<\/abbr><\/a> application with a payment of \u00a3110 that\u2019s paid for after 1 April 2017, the difference will be refunded to the individual who made the payment.<\/p>\n<p>For those who applied through a third party such as a solicitor, the solicitor will be notified and the payment will be returned to the person who paid the original registration fee.
