{"id":81120,"date":"2017-05-03T10:18:25","date_gmt":"2017-05-03T10:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=bf1c2ef51552dc0c8103cb9955c820d9"},"modified":"2017-05-03T10:18:25","modified_gmt":"2017-05-03T10:18:25","slug":"news-story-cma-refers-cygnetcambian-merger-for-in-depth-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=81120","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA refers Cygnet\/Cambian merger for in-depth investigation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>On 21 April, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said that it would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/cma-cases\/cygnet-health-care-cambian-adult-services-division-merger-inquiry#reference-unless-undertakings-accepted\">refer the merger for an in-depth investigation<\/a>, called a phase 2 investigation, unless Cygnet offered acceptable undertakings to address competition concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Cygnet has not offered any undertakings and the CMA will therefore now refer the merger.<\/p>\n<p>The CMA\u2019s initial investigation identified competition concerns in relation to the provision of rehabilitation services to patients suffering from long-term mental health issues in 8 areas, and patients suffering from personality disorder in 4 areas.<\/p>\n<p>A decision on the merger will be made by a group of independent panel members supported by a team of CMA staff.
