The Intellectual Property Office (<abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr>) is commissioning research which aims to construct a snapshot of the current UK enforcement framework for each <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> right. It is important for rights holders to have the necessary means to protect their <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> and this is reflected in the commitment made in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/protecting-creativity-supporting-innovation-ip-enforcement-2020\"><abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr>\u2019s Enforcement Strategy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr> is inviting fresh bids for this research into the effectiveness of the UK\u2019s enforcement framework. The research has been split into two distinct parts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>part A will focus on developing evaluation criteria to assess the processes needed to enforce <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> rights and the consequences of infringement<\/li>\n<li>depending on the outcome of part A, part B, if taken forward, will focus on identifying recommendations for changing the enforcement framework<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As such, the <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr> is inviting bids from stakeholders interested in undertaking part A only at this stage.  The decision to proceed with part B of the research will be taken after the results from part A have been considered.<\/p>\n<p>An open meeting to discuss the research tender will be held at the <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr> London Office on 5 July at 2pm. Teleconference facilities will also be available.
