{"id":81646,"date":"2017-06-16T22:01:59","date_gmt":"2017-06-16T22:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c89b9371c3c8286051a30381e060609b"},"modified":"2017-06-16T22:01:59","modified_gmt":"2017-06-16T22:01:59","slug":"press-release-queens-birthday-honour-for-dstl-chief-executive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=81646","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Queen\u2019s Birthday Honour for Dstl Chief Executive"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Jonathan Lyle, Chief Executive of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (<abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>) has been made a Companion of the Order of the Bath<br \/>\n(CB).<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan is recognised in the 2017 Queen\u2019s Birthday Honours List, in recognition of his exemplary contribution to defence science and engineering over the past 41 years.<\/p>\n<p>As Chief Executive, Jonathan has been responsible for reshaping <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s scientific capabilities to embrace and exploit new disruptive technologies. Through his leadership, dedication, drive and commitment, <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> has achieved a reputation across government for delivering cutting-edge scientific and technology initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan said that his honour reflected the amazing work done by colleagues throughout his career:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I have had the privilege to work with so many talented and committed people. I am deeply honoured to have been recognised with the CB and really do feel this is a reflection of a combined team effort across the lab.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chair of the <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> Board Sir David Pepper added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Jonathan; he is an exemplary leader, and epitomises the highest standard of public service. He has done an enormous amount for <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>, and for the use of science and technology in the defence and security of the UK.
