{"id":81983,"date":"2017-06-28T10:09:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-28T10:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c088af2c80fef9a9adb9ac72d7f49709"},"modified":"2017-06-28T10:09:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-28T10:09:00","slug":"news-story-introduction-of-space-industry-bill-shows-uks-commitment-to-commercial-spaceflight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=81983","title":{"rendered":"News story: Introduction of Space Industry Bill shows UK\u2019s commitment to commercial spaceflight"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p>Visit the Parliament website for a <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/services.parliament.uk\/bills\/2017-19\/spaceindustrybill.html\">full copy of the Bill or to follow its progress through Parliament.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Bill, which was outlined in the Queen\u2019s Speech, is a clear signal of the UK\u2019s commitment to enabling commercial spaceflight from UK spaceports, and a key part of the Government\u2019s Industrial Strategy to ensure the UK businesses capture a share of this emerging global market.<\/p>\n<p>Lord Callanan, Parliamentary under Secretary of State for Transport introduced the Space Industry Bill, which is a joint initiative by the Department for Transport, UK Space Agency and Civil Aviation Authority supported by the Health and Safety Executive.<\/p>\n<p>Universities and Science Minister Jo Johnson said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The Space Industry Bill will ensure the UK remains a leading player in the commercial space age by enabling small satellite launch from UK spaceports. The measures in the Bill will help make the UK the most attractive place in Europe for commercial launch and enable UK businesses to capture a growing share of this emerging global market.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The emerging markets for small satellite launch and sub-orbital flight are forecast to be worth over \u00a325 billion globally over the next 20 years.
