{"id":82134,"date":"2017-07-03T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-03T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=b27be54fa89df5fbf884b378b206b020"},"modified":"2017-07-03T07:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-07-03T07:00:00","slug":"news-story-modpolice-twitter-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=82134","title":{"rendered":"News story: @MODPolice Twitter launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The new <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> Twitter account can be found on the handle <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MODPolice\">@MODPolice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This will supplement our existing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/ministry-of-defence-police\">Ministry of Defence Police<\/a> (<abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr>) pages on the GOV.UK website, our <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mod.police.uk\/\">recruitment website<\/a>  and our <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/en-gb.facebook.com\/ministryofdefencepolice\/\">Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the launch, <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> Deputy Chief Constable Andy Adams said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Our Twitter account will provide us with a primary communication tool in order to raise public awareness of the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> and enhance their understanding of what we do and the specialist policing services and capabilities that we provide.<\/p>\n<p>It will also support us in connecting with the defence communities, stakeholders and customers that we serve by furnishing us with a news feed for regular messaging on continuous vigilance and success stories.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of an operational incident Twitter will also present the means for us to communicate quickly and effectively with stakeholders, customers, staff, the public and the media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Twitter will be used to support and promote <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> policing operations and wider force initiatives, including the ongoing roll-out of Project Servator.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Assistant Chief Constable Paul McLaughlin comments:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The launch of the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> Twitter account marks a progressive step in enhancing the digital footprint of the force.
