Motorists travelling into Birmingham are reminded that key link roads will remain closed until 4th September as part of a \u00a34.7 million concrete repair scheme at Spaghetti Junction.<\/p>\n

For the duration of the scheme there is no access to the A38(M) from Gravelly Hill or Tyburn Road, with local diversions in place.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, there will be further closures in place again this weekend.<\/p>\n

From Friday night (21st July), there will be a full weekend closure of junction 6 of the M6, associated slip roads and the A38(M) into and out of Birmingham.<\/p>\n

The M6 itself remains fully open during the work.<\/p>\n

Local routes into the city centre are likely to be busier than usual. Drivers are advised to plan their journey.<\/p>\n

Project manager, Jessica Kenny, from Highways England, said:<\/p>\n

This repair work is essential. We fully appreciate people\u2019s frustrations and apologise to motorists and residents for the inconvenience.<\/p>\n

We continue to work closely with Birmingham City Council to minimise disruption.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d ask for people\u2019s continued patience as the work progresses. Motorists are urged to plan journeys in advance and allow extra time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The ageing structure, located on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre, recently celebrated its 45th birthday and is used by 200,000 vehicles a day.<\/p>\n
