{"id":83827,"date":"2017-08-30T14:05:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T14:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=7c824b000d253d5dc7d0af7923470f3d"},"modified":"2018-05-30T10:22:29","modified_gmt":"2018-05-30T10:22:29","slug":"news-story-personal-applicants-can-now-apply-for-probate-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=83827","title":{"rendered":"News story: Personal applicants can now apply for probate online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Updated:<\/em> Applications now open to a small number of solicitors.<\/p>\n<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Probate Service is now accepting online applications from personal applicants and a small number of pre-selected solicitors based on the criteria below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>applications where up to 4 executors are applying<\/li>\n<li>there is an original will available even if the person who died made up to 4 changes to that will (these changes are known as codicils)<\/li>\n<li>the person who has died classed England and Wales as their permanent home or intended to return to England and Wales to live permanently.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The online application form will continue to be developed to cover a broader range of probate applications in the future.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"what-the-new-online-application-provides\">What the new online application provides<\/h3>\n<p>The new online application form includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a new statement of truth for you to declare that the information provided is correct, which removes the need for you to swear an oath in person<\/li>\n<li>the function to pay the fee online removing the need to post a cheque to the Probate Service<\/li>\n<li>a \u2018save and return\u2019 function allows you to save and revisit an application if you need to find further information. This allows a part finished application to be saved and completed later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"what-is-required-in-order-to-submit-an-online-application\">What is required in order to submit an online application?<\/h3>\n<p>The online application form is easier to understand but you will still be required to provide supporting documents as per the current process.
