{"id":84126,"date":"2017-09-08T10:35:33","date_gmt":"2017-09-08T10:35:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8f50807039e736a42daef1105206f56f"},"modified":"2017-09-08T10:35:33","modified_gmt":"2017-09-08T10:35:33","slug":"news-story-london-vapc-backs-call-for-more-mentors-for-vets-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=84126","title":{"rendered":"News story: London VAPC backs call for more mentors for VETS programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>More mentors are needed to help build on the success of the <abbr title=\"Veterans Employment Transition Support programme\">VETS<\/abbr> scheme, which provides employment support for veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 2,000 ex-servicemen and women have signed up to the programme but the scheme has only 400 mentors.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Jablonowski, who represents London <abbr title=\"Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee\">VAPC<\/abbr> on the scheme\u2019s steering group, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s going well but we do need more mentors. I would be really grateful if <abbr title=\"Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee\">VAPC<\/abbr> members and those throughout the wider veterans community would consider volunteering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">If you feel this is up your street, your support would be very much appreciated. Putting in place an extensive team of mentors is really critical to the success of the project.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><abbr title=\"Veterans Employment Transition Support programme\">VETS<\/abbr> is a coalition of partners that have joined together to support all veterans as they seek to find the right job.
