{"id":85004,"date":"2017-10-03T15:06:25","date_gmt":"2017-10-03T15:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=7426c3e11e2866c065de71a12c602908"},"modified":"2017-10-03T15:06:25","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T15:06:25","slug":"news-story-defence-secretary-announces-armed-forces-covenant-and-veterans-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=85004","title":{"rendered":"News story: Defence Secretary announces Armed Forces Covenant and Veterans Board\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Co-chaired by Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon and First Secretary of State Damian Green, and reporting to the Prime Minister,\u00a0the\u00a0board underlines\u00a0the Government\u2019s enduring commitment to the Armed Forces community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meeting biannually, the Board will drive forward the existing Armed Forces Covenant commitments community\u00a0across all Government departments responsible for delivery, with a specific focus on the priority areas of healthcare, including mental health. Housing, education, and employment opportunities are also other areas which will be covered.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn addition, the\u00a0Defence Secretary\u00a0and the First Secretary of State will meet separately with leading Service charities and the single Service Family Federations to discuss the Covenant on an annual basis.
