{"id":85006,"date":"2017-10-03T16:48:00","date_gmt":"2017-10-03T16:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4a26227cca1c6c9ea22e9be06148f7e2"},"modified":"2017-10-03T16:48:00","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T16:48:00","slug":"press-release-2-5m-cash-boost-for-garden-towns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=85006","title":{"rendered":"Press release: \u00a32.5 million cash boost for garden towns"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>A \u00a32.5 million cash boost to speed up the delivery of over 155,000 new homes across England, has been announced by the Communities Secretary Sajid Javid today (3 October 2017).<\/p>\n<p>Nine locally-led garden town developments, from Bicester to Taunton, will each receive new funding to fast track the build out of these large housing projects.<\/p>\n<p>The new funding will support local authorities and communities in delivering ambitious proposals, speeding up the progress of developments through additional dedicated resources and expertise.<\/p>\n<p>Garden towns being supported by government are committed to delivering high quality, well-planed and well-designed new communities that will stand out as exemplars of good development in years to come.<\/p>\n<p>The funding will support the development of 9 new locally-led garden towns at Bicester, Didcot, Basingstoke, Otterpool Park in Kent, Aylesbury, Taunton, Harlow-Gilston, North Northamptonshire and North Essex.<\/p>\n<p>Communities Secretary Sajid Javid said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Locally-led garden towns have enormous potential to deliver the homes that communities need. Garden villages are smaller settlements of between 1,500 and 10,000 homes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Government is encouraging different and ambitious solutions to fix the housing market.
