{"id":85072,"date":"2017-10-05T14:01:38","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T14:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=124b6f42153f21e525f44f80874173a4"},"modified":"2017-10-05T14:01:38","modified_gmt":"2017-10-05T14:01:38","slug":"press-release-vital-renovation-for-sea-wall-at-walton-on-the-naze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=85072","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Vital renovation for sea wall at Walton on the Naze"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The sea wall at Walton on the Naze helps to protect a wetland site of designated international importance under the Ramsar Convention.<\/p>\n<p>The repair work will ensure the wall remains an effective flood defence for years to come and prevent any further deterioration.<\/p>\n<p>Starting later this month, a section of the tidal defence embankment will be refurbished over a 3 month period.<br \/>\nThe project will see the renovation of a 1.7 kilometre stretch of the embankment, running north up the coast from Foundry Lane.<\/p>\n<p>The work is being carried out by civil engineering contractors Breheny and will take place on the crest and seaward sides of the embankment.<\/p>\n<p>Work is due to begin in the week commencing 9 October 2017 and normal working hours will be from 7:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Kerry Bentley, Asset Performance Officer for the Environment Agency, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This is very important work and will ensure the sea wall can continue to provide an effective level of protection in the area for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>The damaged sections of existing sea wall will be removed and new sections will be added.<\/p>\n<p>The old blocks will be placed at the toe of the sea wall as habitat and to help reduce wave impact.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">In order to ensure the safe delivery of these works we will need to redirect short sections of the footpath to the rear of the wall.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Environment Agency is set to carry out vital repair work to the sea wall at Walton on the Naze in Essex.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/85072"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=85072"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/85072\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=85072"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=85072"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=85072"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
