{"id":86701,"date":"2017-11-27T16:34:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-27T16:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=ee2799e90f8f9b36bedcd560bb3fefa1"},"modified":"2017-11-27T16:34:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-27T16:34:00","slug":"press-release-international-trade-secretary-announces-new-roles-to-boost-trade-around-the-globe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=86701","title":{"rendered":"Press release: International Trade Secretary announces new roles to boost trade around the globe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Secretary of State for International Trade, Dr Liam Fox, has this week announced that the Department for International Trade (<abbr title=\"Department for International Trade\">DIT<\/abbr>) will recruit for a new team of Her Britannic Majesty\u2019s Trade Commissioners (HMTCs) to represent the UK in key markets across the world.<\/p>\n<p>The HM Trade Commissioners, one of the government\u2019s manifesto commitments, will play a vital role as the UK leaves the European Union and takes its place as a global champion of free trade in charge of its own independent trade policy. The HM Trade Commissioners will head the global operations of <abbr title=\"Department for International Trade\">DIT<\/abbr>, leading on export promotion, inward and outward direct investment, and trade policy overseas on behalf of the UK government.<\/p>\n<p>The 9 geographical areas that the HM Trade Commissioners will cover are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Africa<\/li>\n<li>Asia-Pacific<\/li>\n<li>China<\/li>\n<li>Eastern Europe and Central Asia Network (EECAN)<\/li>\n<li>Europe<\/li>\n<li>Latin America<\/li>\n<li>Middle East<\/li>\n<li>North America<\/li>\n<li>South Asia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The HM Trade Commissioners will be senior Civil Service appointments. It is anticipated that appointments will be confirmed during the first half of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>International Trade Secretary, Dr Liam Fox, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to represent the UK in key markets around the world. We will be seeking the brightest and the best, from both the public and private sectors to use their extensive regional and in-country knowledge, together with their business and government expertise to help build a global Britain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The new HM Trade Commissioners will be providing a clear vision and direction to my Department\u2019s global operations.
