{"id":86714,"date":"2017-11-28T09:22:57","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T09:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4aefff3209fe6d8f5340f85d66be5c15"},"modified":"2017-11-28T09:22:57","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T09:22:57","slug":"news-story-master-and-vessel-owner-fined-29000-for-fisheries-offences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=86714","title":{"rendered":"News story: Master and vessel owner fined \u00a329,000 for fisheries offences"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>David Marr, master of UK registered fishing vessel Honeybourne III (PD905) and owner Macduff Shellfish (Scotland) Ltd. were sentenced at Worthing Magistrates Court on 24 November 2017 in a prosecution brought by the <abbr title=\"Marine Management Organisation\">MMO<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>The court heard how an inspection by <abbr title=\"Marine Management Organisation\">MMO<\/abbr> officers on 9 March 2017 found a quantity of scallops below the allowed minimum size in the catch of the Honeybourne III at Shoreham.<\/p>\n<p>Both defendants entered guilty pleas. Macduff Shellfish was ordered to pay a \u00a323,264 fine, \u00a34,000 costs and a \u00a3170 victim surcharge.
