{"id":86917,"date":"2017-12-01T14:05:00","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T14:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=aba648bc1e4f17394e217e4649eef926"},"modified":"2017-12-01T14:05:00","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T14:05:00","slug":"news-story-crimestoppers-campaign-funded-by-the-ipo-and-industry-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=86917","title":{"rendered":"News story: Crimestoppers campaign funded by the IPO and industry partners"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The campaign launches on 1 December 2017 with the aim of raising awareness of the risks involved in using illicit streaming devices such as adapted Kodi boxes and Amazon Fire Sticks.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"why-is-the-campaign-needed\">Why is the campaign needed?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>digital piracy is often run by criminal gangs and individuals to make money that is then fed into other serious organised crime<\/li>\n<li>in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/protecting-creativity-supporting-innovation-ip-enforcement-2020\"><abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> enforcement 2020<\/a> strategy we explained the importance of tackling <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> infringement and reducing the level of illegal content online. This campaign will help us to achieve that<\/li>\n<li>it is a big issue across the UK.
