{"id":86920,"date":"2017-12-01T12:37:03","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T12:37:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=663a3bb0d7203f5383814c44436dc184"},"modified":"2017-12-01T12:37:03","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T12:37:03","slug":"speech-world-aids-day-2017-theresa-mays-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=86920","title":{"rendered":"Speech: World AIDS Day 2017: Theresa May&#8217;s message"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>On this thirtieth World AIDS Day, I am proud to wear the red ribbon in support of everyone living with HIV.<\/p>\n<p>Since the first World AIDS Day in 1988, treatment and care for people with HIV has been transformed.<\/p>\n<p>Men and women who a generation ago would have been lost are today leading happy and productive lives, and making an enormous contribution to our world.<\/p>\n<p>Valued colleagues and neighbours, much-loved children, friends, and partners are a living testament to how far we have come.<\/p>\n<p>And if we can succeed in making testing and treatment available to all, a final end to HIV transmission and the reality of an AIDS free generation is within our grasp.<\/p>\n<p>As we continue our work towards that goal, we must also bring an end to the stigma which still blights the daily lives of many people with HIV.<\/p>\n<p>This stigma leads to social isolation, lowers self-esteem, and damages mental health.<\/p>\n<p>No one should have to face it \u2013 and we all have our part to play in stamping it out.<\/p>\n<p>So on this World AIDS Day, as we remember all those we have lost, and redouble our efforts to end HIV transmission, let\u2019s vow to support everyone who is living with HIV.<\/p>\n<p>And together, let\u2019s end the isolation and end the stigma for good.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In her message for World AIDS Day, Prime Minister Theresa May spoke about the importance of tackling the stigma of HIV.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/86920"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=86920"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/86920\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=86920"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=86920"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=86920"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
