{"id":87144,"date":"2017-12-08T09:54:14","date_gmt":"2017-12-08T09:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=bdb45bd60a862eb9fd617888f0b8f9ef"},"modified":"2017-12-08T09:54:14","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T09:54:14","slug":"news-story-uk-and-china-agree-70-million-of-business-in-health-sectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=87144","title":{"rendered":"News story: UK and China agree \u00a370 million of business in health sectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The UK government has facilitated more than \u00a370 million of business between the health sectors in Britain and China at the annual UK\u2013China High-Level People-to-People Dialogue event.<\/p>\n<p>The event, hosted by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, brought together delegations from the business, academic, science and policy sectors to collaborate on health issues.<\/p>\n<p>Agreements were signed between universities, hospitals, companies and academic councils. The ties will help share knowledge, expertise and resources to improve healthcare outcomes and practices in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Health is a key pillar in our relationship with China, and we must continue to work together to fight disease and improve health outcomes for all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It is incredibly exciting to exchange ideas and knowledge with such an important partner. Our relationship is built on mutual trust and respect and this year\u2019s dialogue has only strengthened our bond.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The agreements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UK\u2013China joint declaration on health collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Oxford\u2019s Nuffield Department of Medicine, the China Scholarships Council, and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences\/Peking Union Medical College<\/li>\n<li>expansion of collaboration between Nottingham University and Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
