{"id":87405,"date":"2017-12-18T11:41:55","date_gmt":"2017-12-18T11:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=b20b521376d31c097e4ccfb86f77af7d"},"modified":"2017-12-18T11:41:55","modified_gmt":"2017-12-18T11:41:55","slug":"press-release-new-floating-moorings-on-river-great-ouse-to-last-50-plus-years-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=87405","title":{"rendered":"Press release: New floating moorings on River Great Ouse to last 50-plus years"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The floating moorings replace ones on the relief channels at Stowbridge, Wiggenhall St Mary and the Denver Complex, all in Norfolk.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to last at least 50 years, the new platforms feature non-slip mesh decking and galvanised steel frames.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Bennison, Anglian Waterways engineer, who has managed the project said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The existing landing stages have been taken away to be refurbished and re-used elsewhere on the River Great Ouse.  The new frames and decking will improve safety, as well as look better and reduce maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It\u2019s all part of our ongoing efforts to protect and improve our cherished waterways.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The work to replace the landing stages is part of the Environment Agency\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/environment-agency-announces-14m-anglian-waterways-investment\">\u00a31.4m Capital Investment Programme<\/a>.  Announced in November, the programme sets out the investments being made into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/anglian-waterways-information-to-help-boaters\">Anglian Waterways\u2019<\/a> 353-mile network.<\/p>\n<p>Projects in the pipeline include improvements to eight locks, and take place from November to March \u2013 avoiding the peak boating season to minimise disruption for those on the river.<\/p>\n<p>The Environment Agency cares for more than 353 miles of navigable waterways in the Anglian region, as well as a vast network of associated facilities such as bridges, locks, moorings and toilets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boaters on the River Great Ouse can now stop off at three new and improved landing stages installed by the Environment Agency.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/87405"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=87405"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/87405\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=87405"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=87405"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=87405"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
