{"id":87629,"date":"2017-12-27T15:05:24","date_gmt":"2017-12-27T15:05:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=69ede5795262e7d95b56c7e0ba4f7c2e"},"modified":"2017-12-27T15:05:24","modified_gmt":"2017-12-27T15:05:24","slug":"press-release-logging-on-to-festive-admin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=87629","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Logging on to festive admin"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>While over 7 million people tuned into the Queen\u2019s Speech on Christmas day, figures show that thousands of people also logged on to <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency\">DVLA<\/abbr>\u2019s online services to stay on top of their admin.<\/p>\n<p>From taxing cars to buying personalised registrations, people chose to log on to <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency\">DVLA<\/abbr>\u2019s online services on 25 December 2017.<\/p>\n<p>So, as well as the 10 million turkeys eaten and the thousands of people who took part in a sea swim, on Christmas day this year\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8,550 vehicles were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/vehicle-tax\">taxed or declared off road<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>521 people told us online they had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/sold-bought-vehicle\">bought or sold a vehicle<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>11,343 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/view-driving-licence\">viewed their driving licence<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>more than 1,600 applied for their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence\">first provisional driving licence<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>727 told <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency\">DVLA<\/abbr> their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/dvla-change-address\">new address<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>456 applied for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/apply-online-to-replace-a-driving-licence\">duplicate licence<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>136 customers went online to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/pay-dvla-fine\">pay a fine<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>621 bought a <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk\">personalised registration<\/a> number<\/li>\n<li>1,556 customers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/put-registration-number-vehicle\">assigned a registration<\/a> number onto a vehicle, whilst 114 motorists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/keep-registration-number\">took a registration number off<\/a> a vehicle to keep on retention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oliver Morley, Chief Executive of <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency\">DVLA<\/abbr> said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Giving customers choice in how, where and when they use our services is at the heart of what we do.
