{"id":87908,"date":"2018-01-11T12:27:22","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T12:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=5085106dc1841a2c0ead54d3605a1e47"},"modified":"2018-01-11T12:27:22","modified_gmt":"2018-01-11T12:27:22","slug":"news-story-british-army-reservists-join-natos-kosovo-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=87908","title":{"rendered":"News story: British Army reservists join NATO\u2019s Kosovo Force"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The UK is extending the deployment for another year of around 30 UK troops, including reservists, to NATO\u2019s Kosovo Force (KFOR).<\/p>\n<p>The reservists will bring specialist surveillance and intelligence skills to enhance KFOR\u2019s capability and will be working with NATO allies to promote safety, security and stability in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>British Army reservists are top-class and this demonstrates the crucial role they play in protecting the UK\u2019s interests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Our troops will work with key NATO allies, providing the expertise needed to maintain stability in the Kosovo region and Europe as a whole.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>KFOR began as a peacekeeping force in the late 1990s. It has now evolved into a flexible body of around 4,200 troops, providing security in Kosovo and allowing freedom of movement for all people in the country.
