{"id":87998,"date":"2018-01-15T09:30:51","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T09:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=f3bd8b7cf9d58e3e51c14c96b7e02ab1"},"modified":"2018-01-15T09:30:51","modified_gmt":"2018-01-15T09:30:51","slug":"news-story-using-simulation-to-test-driverless-vehicles-apply-for-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=87998","title":{"rendered":"News story: Using simulation to test driverless vehicles: apply for funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/driverless-vehicles-connected-and-autonomous-technologies\">Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles<\/a> (CCAV) in partnership with Innovate UK has up to \u00a315 million to invest in projects that use simulation and modelling in the development of approvals and standards for autonomous and connected vehicles.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"driverless-vehicles-on-the-roads\">Driverless vehicles on the roads<\/h2>\n<p>UK government has said that it expects driverless vehicles to be on UK roads by 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Testing physical vehicles in all conceivable situations is likely to be expensive and time-consuming.
