As part of its ongoing commitment to delivering support for businesses, <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> will provide practical advice and guidance to those affected through its Business Payment Support Service (<abbr title=\"Business Payment Support Service\">BPSS<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Business Payment Support Service\">BPSS<\/abbr> connects businesses with <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> staff who can offer practical help and advice on a wide range of tax problems, providing a fast and sympathetic route to agreeing the best way forward and addressing immediate concerns with practical solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Business Payment Support Service\">BPSS<\/abbr> can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>agree instalment arrangements if you\u2019re unable to pay your tax on time following the Carillion collapse<\/li>\n<li>suspend any debt collection proceedings<\/li>\n<li>review penalties for missing statutory deadlines<\/li>\n<li>reduce any payments on account<\/li>\n<li>agree to defer payments due to short-term cash flow difficulties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> can also provide workers and their families with cash support through the tax credits system &#8211; details are on our website.
