{"id":88456,"date":"2018-01-29T14:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=9f43d4adb5c4cdb988bc98711d4f88f0"},"modified":"2018-01-29T14:30:00","modified_gmt":"2018-01-29T14:30:00","slug":"news-story-assessing-the-impact-of-medical-technologies-apply-for-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=88456","title":{"rendered":"News story: Assessing the impact of medical technologies: apply for funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/office-for-life-sciences\">Office for Life Sciences<\/a>, in partnership with Innovate UK, has up to \u00a31 million to invest in projects that help developers of innovative medicines, medical devices, diagnostics and digital technologies to evaluate their products in a clinical setting.<\/p>\n<p>This competition will allow small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to generate evidence that the products they are developing can meet the priorities of the NHS.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-life-sciences-sector\">The life sciences sector<\/h2>\n<p>Life sciences is one of the most important sectors of the UK economy. More than 5,000 businesses employ around 235,000 people and generate \u00a363.5 billion in turnover.<\/p>\n<p>Over 95% of businesses working in the sector are small. They often find it difficult to generate sufficient evidence to get their products adopted.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/innovate-uk-health-and-life-sciences\">Find out more about how Innovate UK supports innovation in health and life sciences.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"in-line-with-nhs-priorities\">In line with NHS priorities<\/h2>\n<p>Projects can range from smaller ones looking at the feasibility of collecting data to larger ones that support the actual collection of data.<\/p>\n<p>They must be carried out in the NHS and show how they will impact NHS priorities.
