{"id":88660,"date":"2018-02-05T09:56:39","date_gmt":"2018-02-05T09:56:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=68290101cbd68fcc71dde25696f0bdcf"},"modified":"2018-02-05T09:56:39","modified_gmt":"2018-02-05T09:56:39","slug":"statement-to-parliament-notification-of-a-contingent-liability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=88660","title":{"rendered":"Statement to Parliament: Notification of a contingent liability"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>I have today laid before Parliament a departmental minute describing a contingent liability (<abbr title=\"contingent liability\">CL<\/abbr>) of \u00a34 million associated with Solum <abbr title=\"joint venture\">JV<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>Solum <abbr title=\"joint venture\">JV<\/abbr> was created in 2008 to help Network Rail (<abbr title=\"Network Rail\">NR<\/abbr>) deliver its agreed housing target. Since its formation, the Solum <abbr title=\"joint venture\">JV<\/abbr> has delivered over 200 housing units, has <abbr title=\"circa 200\">c.200<\/abbr> more under construction (to complete by 2021) and a pipeline of <abbr title=\"circa 1500\">c.1500<\/abbr> further units, subject to planning and other approvals.<\/p>\n<p>This counter-indemnity, for which <abbr title=\"Network Rail\">NR<\/abbr>\u2019s <abbr title=\"contingent liability\">CL<\/abbr> of \u00a34 million will be matched by its <abbr title=\"joint venture\">JV<\/abbr> partner, Kier, will cover further multiple residential developments being built by the <abbr title=\"joint venture\">JV<\/abbr>, initially at Twickenham and Walthamstow (Phase 2) stations.<\/p>\n<p>The Treasury has approved the proposal in principle.
