{"id":89364,"date":"2018-02-26T12:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-02-26T12:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4b4e20dd6b33fc7acde5be93c8897059"},"modified":"2018-03-05T11:59:26","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T11:59:26","slug":"news-story-digital-and-service-solutions-to-nhs-challenges-apply-for-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=89364","title":{"rendered":"News story: Digital and service solutions to NHS challenges: apply for funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Updated:<\/em> Clarified that only NHS organisations and partnerships in England are eligible for funding in this strand of the competition. <\/p>\n<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Innovate UK is to invest up to \u00a34.5 million on behalf of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/office-for-life-sciences\">Office for Life Sciences<\/a> in projects that combine digital and service innovations to significantly improve healthcare.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/\">NHS England<\/a> is to invest a further \u00a31.5 million specifically in projects that apply digital approaches to supporting people with type 2 diabetes.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"test-in-real-world-settings\">Test in real-world settings<\/h2>\n<p>We are seeking initial expressions of interest from both businesses with innovative digital projects and NHS organisations in England willing to lead a series of trials.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants will be invited to a workshop where they will be able to meet and select partners. Consortia will then be invited to submit a detailed application to apply for funding.<\/p>\n<p>It is part of the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/ourwork\/innovation\/test-beds\/\">NHS test beds programme<\/a> that aims to help innovators work with the NHS and test innovations in products and process in real-world settings.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/innovate-uk-health-and-life-sciences\">Find out more about how we support innovation in health and life sciences.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"projects-must-meet-nhs-priorities\">Projects must meet NHS priorities<\/h2>\n<p>Business should have a market-ready digital product that meets safety and regulatory standards and could address a health and care challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Projects will need to meet the priorities set by NHS England in its <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/next-steps-on-the-nhs-five-year-forward-view\/\">5 Year Forward View<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>NHS organisations must have a clearly defined health and care challenge and be willing to lead a consortium that will test whether a combination of product and service innovation can address that challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Projects must produce significant significant health improvements at the same or lower cost.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"competition-information\">Competition information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>we are now inviting expressions of interest and the deadline is midday on 27 March 2018<\/li>\n<li>to be eligible for funding you can be:\n<ul>\n<li>an NHS England organisation or partnership. NHS organisations from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland cannot lead but can be partners in a consortium<\/li>\n<li>a business of any size, but funding is only available to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>we expect projects to range in size from \u00a3500,000 to \u00a31.5 million and to last up to 18 months<\/li>\n<li>businesses could receive up to 70% of their costs.
