{"id":89616,"date":"2018-03-06T07:00:35","date_gmt":"2018-03-06T07:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=bb049a206ff27ae6bcd25e569bdfdda8"},"modified":"2018-03-06T07:00:35","modified_gmt":"2018-03-06T07:00:35","slug":"news-story-country-stores-merger-referred-for-in-depth-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=89616","title":{"rendered":"News story: Country stores merger referred for in-depth investigation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>On 21 February the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced that it would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/country-stores-merger-could-reduce-competition\">refer the merger for a phase 2 investigation<\/a> unless Mole Valley offered acceptable proposals to address these concerns.<\/p>\n<p>As the parties have not offered satisfactory undertakings, the CMA will now refer the merger.<\/p>\n<p>A decision on the merger will be made by a group of independent panel members supported by a case team of CMA staff.
