{"id":90050,"date":"2018-03-16T10:06:38","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T10:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=d1dde13e65f47123fe374cfd9e40c87a"},"modified":"2018-03-16T10:06:38","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T10:06:38","slug":"news-story-new-ip-and-trade-toolkits-for-smes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=90050","title":{"rendered":"News story: New IP and trade toolkits for SMEs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The production of the toolkits followed a meeting of the <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr> &#8211; <abbr title=\"United States\">US<\/abbr> Trade and Investment Working Group in November 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The Working Group, which will meet for the third time later this month, works to deepen current trade and investment ties between the two nations. It lays the groundwork for a potential, future free trade agreement once the United Kingdom leaves the European Union.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"Small and medium-sized enterprises\">SMEs<\/abbr> are the lifeblood of the <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr> economy and trade in <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> is an increasingly important part of <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr> business activity. The <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr>\u2019s global exports of intellectual property services totalled \u00a311.5 billion in 2015. At the start of 2017, 99.9% of private sector businesses in the <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr> were <abbr title=\"Small and medium-sized enterprises\">SMEs<\/abbr>. These toolkits will provide information to <abbr title=\"Small and medium-sized enterprises\">SMEs<\/abbr> to encourage trade between our two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The following toolkits are available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/protecting-intellectual-property-in-the-united-kingdom\"><abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr> guide for <abbr title=\"United States\">US<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"Small and medium-sized enterprises\">SMEs<\/abbr><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/ipassessment.uspto.gov\/\"><abbr title=\"United States\">US<\/abbr> government guide for <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"Small and medium-sized enterprises\">SMEs<\/abbr><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr> would welcome your views on the toolkits and ways in which they could be used.
