Stakeholders should <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/trade.ec.europa.eu\/consultations\/index.cfm?consul_id=253\">send comments on this consultation to the Commission<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"background\">Background<\/h2>\n<p>On 8 March the US President announced the imposition of a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminium imports.
