{"id":90245,"date":"2018-03-21T17:21:40","date_gmt":"2018-03-21T17:21:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=7dd44579149947551f7468c230588d28"},"modified":"2018-03-21T17:21:40","modified_gmt":"2018-03-21T17:21:40","slug":"news-story-supporting-agricultural-innovation-in-colombia-apply-for-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=90245","title":{"rendered":"News story: Supporting agricultural innovation in Colombia: apply for funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Innovate UK, through the Colombian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/announcement-of-an-event-for-potential-implementing-partners-for-the-uk-prosperity-fund-bilateral-programme-in-colombia-2017-2021\">Prosperity Fund Programme<\/a>, is to invest up to \u00a33 million in collaborative business projects that address agricultural challenges in regions affected by conflict in Colombia.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"a-focus-on-female-farmers\">A focus on female farmers<\/h2>\n<p>The aim of this competition is to help farmers in Colombia, particularly female smallholders, to improve their farming methods and adopt innovations faster.<\/p>\n<p>It should help the country meet its international development objectives in agriculture. This includes to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improve the health and welfare of farmers, particularly women<\/li>\n<li>create more sustainable intensification<\/li>\n<li>promote diversity in diet and nutrition<\/li>\n<li>improve rural income and food security<\/li>\n<li>make it easier to trade agricultural products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UK businesses can apply with early or late-stage innovation projects that support the uptake of new technologies and innovations. These should have the potential to advance sustainable intensification in Colombia and deliver economic impact across the agri-tech industry.<\/p>\n<p>Projects may take ideas from any sector or discipline. They will need to meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/official-development-assistance-oda--2\">Official Development Assistance<\/a> criteria and the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ukpga\/2014\/9\/introduction\">International Development (Gender Equality) Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"competition-information\">Competition information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>the competition opens on 26 March 2018, and the deadline for registration is at midday on 18 July 2018<\/li>\n<li>you can work in collaboration with other businesses, academic organisations, charities, public sector organisations and research organisations. You must work with a Colombian partner<\/li>\n<li>you must carry out your project work in the UK, Colombia or both<\/li>\n<li>we expect early-stage awards to have costs between \u00a3150,000 and \u00a3500,000 and last up to 18 months.
