{"id":91141,"date":"2018-04-18T07:58:46","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T07:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=24e5f37ac1d2801ea318565c6e1b14b2"},"modified":"2018-04-18T07:58:46","modified_gmt":"2018-04-18T07:58:46","slug":"news-story-best-of-british-showcased-to-commonwealth-leaders-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=91141","title":{"rendered":"News story: Best of British showcased to Commonwealth leaders in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Department for International Trade\u2019s (<abbr title=\"Department for International Trade\">DIT<\/abbr>) GREAT campaign curated an array of interactive showcases to entertain guests at the \u2018Welcome to the UK Reception\u2019, marking the first day of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (<abbr title=\"Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting\">CHOGM<\/abbr>) in London.<\/p>\n<p>The Duke of Cambridge welcomed all 52 of the other Commonwealth countries to London at the reception, which presented the best of British expertise, innovation and creativity.<\/p>\n<p>The interactive showcases included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a virtual reality experience, with British astronaut Tim Peake, by the Science Museum<\/li>\n<li>the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Cricket World Cup and Premier League trophies brought to life by sport stars Alan Shearer and Ebony-Jewel Rainford-Brent, explaining the impact of sport on the Commonwealth<\/li>\n<li>a display of Commonwealth fashion, as part of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange project, showcasing designers and artisans from each of the 53 countries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Promoting UK food and drink, the GREAT campaign allowed guests to sample the very best of British cuisine, with products from each nation of the UK.
