{"id":92033,"date":"2018-05-17T13:23:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-17T13:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=cb59d4123791b153fc5a868d6602d73c"},"modified":"2018-05-17T13:23:00","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T13:23:00","slug":"news-story-andy-adams-appointed-as-the-chief-constable-of-the-ministry-of-defence-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=92033","title":{"rendered":"News story: Andy Adams appointed as the Chief Constable of the Ministry of Defence Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Andy assumed the role of Temporary Chief Constable last July following the untimely death of Alf Hitchcock.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> provides a range of specialist armed policing skills and capabilities that help to ensure the protection of Defence people, assets, information and the Defence estate. As Chief Constable, Andy will lead the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr>\u2019s delivery of armed policing services to a range of Defence and external customers.<\/p>\n<p>Andy joined the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> in September 2015 as the Deputy Chief Constable, having previously served as the Deputy Chief Constable of Hertfordshire Constabulary. He has overseen the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr>\u2019s ongoing programme of organisational reform and development, including the implementation of the new <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr> Operational Policing Model and the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr>\u2019s deployments under Operation Temperer.<\/p>\n<p>Julie Taylor, Director General Head Office and Commissioning Services said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am delighted that Andy has been appointed as Chief Constable for the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence Police\">MDP<\/abbr>. Having worked for the Force since 2015 he has a comprehensive and effective understanding of the emerging threats facing our Armed Forces and the country. He\u2019ll continue to take the Force from strength-to-strength and I look forward to continuing to work with him closely.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sir Brian Burridge, Chair of the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence\">MOD<\/abbr> Police Committee, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">As the new Chief Constable of the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence\">MOD<\/abbr>\u2019s specialist police force, Andy Adams \tbrings an extensive wealth of experience from across the spectrum of policing.
