{"id":92330,"date":"2018-05-25T15:25:53","date_gmt":"2018-05-25T15:25:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=609970938e64b40824877a21b21fea1c"},"modified":"2018-05-25T15:25:53","modified_gmt":"2018-05-25T15:25:53","slug":"press-release-two-men-jailed-for-longer-after-brutal-gravesend-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=92330","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Two men jailed for longer after brutal Gravesend attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Two violent attackers have had their sentences increased today after the Solicitor General, Robert Buckland QC MP, referred them for being too low.<\/p>\n<p>On July 16 2017 Aiden St Louis, 19, and Mohammed Gedi, 22, pursued their 18-year-old victim into a busy fast-food restaurant and carried out a sustained attack in front of horrified onlookers. St Louis was armed and repeatedly stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife.<\/p>\n<p>The pair was originally sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court in March. St Louis received 6 years 6 months\u2019 imprisonment in a young offenders\u2019 institution with an extension period of 3 years, and Gedi received 7 years\u2019 imprisonment. Today, after the Solicitor General\u2019s reference, the Court of Appeal increased St Louis\u2019 sentence to 9 years with an extension period of 3 years and Gedi\u2019s to 9 years 6 months\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the sentence increase, the Solicitor General said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This was a vicious and sustained attack which deserved a tougher punishment.
