{"id":92766,"date":"2018-06-13T08:30:07","date_gmt":"2018-06-13T08:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=039158391fff918384da1d1c33e28d7e"},"modified":"2018-06-13T08:30:07","modified_gmt":"2018-06-13T08:30:07","slug":"news-story-new-centres-to-speed-up-patient-diagnosis-apply-for-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=92766","title":{"rendered":"News story: New centres to speed up patient diagnosis: apply for funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>UK organisations can apply for a share of up to \u00a350 million through a funding competition to develop a network of centres of excellence in digital pathology and medical imaging technology.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"run-under-the-industrial-strategy\">Run under the Industrial Strategy<\/h2>\n<p>This competition is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/industrial-strategy-challenge-fund-joint-research-and-innovation\">Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund<\/a> in the challenge area: from data to early diagnosis and precision medicine.<\/p>\n<p>The funding \u2013 which is provided by <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/\">UK Research and Innovation<\/a> and delivered by Innovate UK \u2013 will maximise the UK\u2019s potential to diagnose diseases earlier and identify the best interventions for patients, as well as developing new treatments.<\/p>\n<p>One of the activities in this challenge focuses on digital pathology, radiology and diagnostics. It will help to advance the digitisation of these important areas of diagnosis, increase the efficiency and quality of the review process and get new precision treatments to patients earlier.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/industrial-strategy-challenge-fund-joint-research-and-innovation#from-data-to-early-diagnosis-and-precision-medicine\">Get the latest on the challenge area<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"whats-the-opportunity\">What\u2019s the opportunity<\/h2>\n<p>In this competition we are seeking to establish up to 6 centres that specialise in digital pathology, medical imaging or both.
